Targa Resources (NYSE: TRGP) is a Fortune 500 company based at 811 Louisiana, formerly known as Two Shell Plaza, in Houston, Texas. Targa, a midstream energy corporation, is one of the largest providers of natural gas and natural gas liquids in the United States. Their operations are based largely, though not entirely, on the Gulf Coast, particularly in Texas and Louisiana. Joe Bob Perkins has been Chief Executive Officer since 2012.

One employee shared her experience working at Targa resources, "Employees are inexperienced, yet know everything. Not looking for new staff opinions or changes and nobody could be trusted. Worse than a bunch of high schoolers. Waste of time. Look elsewhere for a fulfilling career."

"The general work environment is pretty good but you can expect very high work loads and long hours with a below average pay system."

"Poor direction. Poor management. Left floundering. NO COMMUNICATION between supervisors and worker bees. Struggle for control by supervisors. Making changes to equipment on the fly without proper engineering or planning or MOC's. Very cliquish. No information sharing so that all crafts/trades can grow together and ALL be informed. Choice of equipment and parts on the cheap end of the scale. Constantly repairing or replacing low end parts. No work orders. Just suppose to know what to do. A Harbor Freight Built Company to make a quick profit and doesn't seem to care what equipment they use so long as its cheap. HR is practically unavailable. PayLeft in the dark like a mushroom, supervisors fearful you may be smarter then they are and take their jobs, so they isolate by no information sharing."

"Nothing but politics. If you arent in the clique, you wont be welcomed. HR is a joke. People at this company will lie about you and the regional manager will ask you to perform illegal stuff. Not worth the risk."

"Nice new plant with normal plant issues. Has a few problems with pressure and temperature drops. Which causes issues with the flow and proper valve operations. In need of more experienced personal. Slow down the training process of inexperienced personal. Plant has some good people to work with. In need of better communication skills and team work."

Additionally, their method of upper manager has more to do with who you know, not what you know. "Typical work day included pulling fuel samples from pipelines, trucks and railcars and reporting findings. Learned how to pull, calibrate, read and report sample findings The direct supervisor treated employees unfairly and was extremely disrespectful. There isn't a specific training program, it's learn as you go or you don't learn and be terminated. The hardest part of the job is finding someone willing to train properly The most enjoyable part of the job was realizing how to do my job on my own and performing the job right.Enjoyed my jobSupervisor disrespectful and no proper training"

"I work in Tacoma and management is terrible. Really they have no idea what's going on and any time you ask for info you get a blank stare. You get micromanaged. My coworker's are spacey and crazy and I don't know how they have a job?? They make me want to cry on the regular. I am bored most of the day cause there is nothing going on. Just kinda rotting away honestly. Maybe the jobs are way better in Texas?flexible hours, 401kpeople are annoying"

"I worked there and management talks bad about you if your not on there side. No room to grow within company. This terminal is almost a fly by night operation. The office and operators are on different levels and the right doesn't know what the left is doing. The terminal manager is lacking in leadership or better yet very unprofessional and micro manages. You wonder why people leave because it feels more like a babysitters club. The best part of the job was telling other co workers I'm going to get experience and move on from this place.It was a jobOnly management got shares operators got nothing but a 401k"
